Role Overview As a Staff Civil Designer, you will lead the technical execution of diverse civil engineering projects—from site development and pipelines to storm water management and traffic control. You’ll be responsible for the full project lifecycle, including analytical design, permitting, and high‑complexity construction documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting:
Execute complex designs for utilities, land development, access roads, and erosion control using
Civil 3D .
Analysis:
Calculate earthwork volumes (excavation/grading) and analyze topographical/geologic data to inform project plans.
Project Lifecycle:
Prepare proposals, reports, and specifications; review drawings for QA/QC, budget adherence, and schedule compliance.
Collaboration:
Work alongside Project Managers and Engineers in a multi‑discipline environment to resolve design issues and meet deadlines.
Standards:
Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, permit requirements, and internal filing standards.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
+ 7 years of related experience
OR
Associate Degree
+ 8 years of related experience
OR
High School Diploma + 9 years of progressive design experience.
Technical Mastery:
Expert‑level proficiency in
AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Excel . (MicroStation experience is a plus).
Skills:
Strong grasp of civil engineering theory, multi‑discipline integration, and analytical problem‑solving.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written skills with a proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
