Sales Engineer at Estuary (Data Infrastructure / Cloud / ETL)
Estuary is a real-time data platform that unifies change data capture (CDC), ETL/ELT pipelines, and streaming infrastructure into a single system.
Instead of managing separate data integration tools, replication systems, and streaming platforms, modern data teams use Estuary to build reliable, scalable data pipelines across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
We work directly with data engineers, platform teams, and infrastructure leaders who care deeply about architecture, performance, and predictable cost.
The Opportunity Estuary sells to technical teams who care about architecture, reliability, and performance.
As a Sales Engineer, you’ll work directly with data engineers and platform teams to understand their systems, identify gaps, and show how Estuary fits into their stack.
You’ll own the technical side of the sales cycle — from deep discovery through proof of concept — and play a key role in turning complex requirements into successful deployments.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys solving real infrastructure problems and partnering closely with both Sales and Engineering.
What you’ll do
Lead technical discovery with data engineers and platform teams
Design solutions integrating with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Kafka, APIs, and cloud databases
Deliver tailored technical demos (not scripted feature tours)
Run POCs involving real cloud data infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Translate customer requirements into technical deployment plans
Surface product feedback to Engineering
What You’ll Bring
2–5+ years in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Pre-Sales, or Data Engineering
Experience selling or supporting cloud data platforms
Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming systems, and data integrationFamiliarity with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar modern data warehouses
Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Comfort discussing distributed systems and architectural tradeoffs
Experience running technical POCs in B2B sales cycles
Nice to have:
Experience with CDC (Change Data Capture) or replication tools
Exposure to tools such as Fivetran, Airbyte, Confluent, dbt, or similar data ecosystem platforms
Background in data engineering prior to pre-sales
Work Location & Travel While Estuary operates as a remote-first company, we are prioritizing candidates based in the New York City area for this role.
Travel is estimated at ~15% for customer meetings and company events.
Salary Range Salary will be dependent on the level of experience and the targeted role:
