Silicon Desert Ventures is a family office and operating platform built by the team behind Paradox - the conversational AI recruiting platform acquired by Workday and Arizona’s first exited software unicorn. We work with founders and leadership teams to build enduring software companies, backed by patient capital and a builder’s mindset. Based in Phoenix, in the heart of the Silicon Desert.

We’re looking for someone magnetic, curious, and relentlessly resourceful to become the face of Silicon Desert across Arizona’s university campuses and tech community. You’ll own campus recruiting, community programming, and brand presence - not as a side project, but as the core of what you do.

What You’ll Own

Campus Recruiting.

Build our campus recruiting engine from scratch. Forge partnerships with career centers, professors, and student organizations at ASU, UofA, GCU, and beyond. Identify exceptional early-career talent for us and our portfolio companies. Design the playbook: events, office hours, competitions, mentorship. You own the relationships and the outcomes.

Community & Brand Presence.

Represent Silicon Desert across the Phoenix tech ecosystem - meetups, conferences, startup events, industry gatherings. Build programming that positions Silicon Desert as the center of gravity for ambitious builders in the Valley. You don’t just attend events; you create the ones people talk about.

Talent Pipeline & Portfolio Support.

We believe all organizations are a result of the talent they hire - and recruiting sets the direction. We’ll bring that same passion to our portfolio companies, whether owned-and-operated or minority investments. You’ll partner with portfolio teams on hiring needs, build pipelines of exceptional people, and place them where they’ll thrive.

AI-Native Operations.

Use AI as your daily co-pilot. Automate candidate tracking, event logistics, and outreach. If a task is repetitive, you find a way to make it intelligent.

Who You Are

Ambitious and hungry to have a high degree of ownership and responsibility.

Experience in recruiting, client success, events, sales, or community is preferred, but the title matters less than your potential.

You can network on campus, understand today’s new grads, and can navigate a university’s formal and informal structure.

A natural connector. You walk into a room and leave with real relationships, not business cards. People remember you, are energized by you, and want to work with you.

Resourceful and self-directed. You don’t wait for a playbook - you write it.

Excited about Arizona’s startup ecosystem and want to be at the center of it.

A daily user of AI for real work - outreach, workflows, content. You don’t need to be an engineer, but an AI-native mindset is non-negotiable.

Equally effective in a room full of founders and a lecture hall of undergrads. You know how to read a room and an audience of one or many.

A strong communicator who knows how to tell a captivating story - whether it’s cold outreach or a pitch to a student org.

Compensation

Competitive base salary aligned with experience and demonstrated impact. Bonus based on outcomes.
