$26.14 to $28.75 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced paraprofessional work coordinating all of the Human Resources-related operations and programs and processing all of the personnel actions for the Parks & Recreation Department, including recruiting, testing, background investigations, evaluations, and career development for new and existing personnel; Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), light duty assignment, and disability paperwork, documentation, and tracking; providing management support for labor negotiations and grievances; and coordinating and assisting in processing disciplinary actions, hearings, and dispositions. In addition, the work involves assisting with implementation and oversight of the Drug & Alcohol Testing Program.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, or a closely related field PLUS five (5) years of Human Resources management experience in a Parks & Recreation environment, or a closely related field. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Special Requirements: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to work irregular hours when necessary. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
