Description The Marketing & Communications department is responsible for building the brand of Chautauqua Institution through excellence in storytelling, service, sales, and support. We are seeking a talented and creative Videographer/Editor to join our summer production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for capturing high-quality video content, post‑producing live events for on‑demand viewing, filming social media content, and supporting the Marketing Department’s overall video needs. This role requires a strong understanding of video production processes, post‑production techniques, and the ability to tell compelling stories through visual media.

Compensation Pay: $16.00 per hour.

Work Day

Capture and edit marketing shorts and social media content covering events.

Film select live presentations and capture audio.

Edit videos using Adobe Premiere.

Create storytelling and story‑board communications using prior knowledge.

Maintain data and information according to Institution data management guidelines and rules.

Assist with production workflows and workflow elements as necessary to achieve objectives.

Work in a variety of environments safely; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, work at elevated heights, climb ladders, stairs, or other structures, or be surrounded by moderate to loud noise levels.

Attend scheduled department meetings.

Follow direction from other team members.

Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to achieve goals.

Maintain high quality and adherence to all standards of brand imprinting on produced content.

Engage graciously with patrons and other constituents, serving as an ambassador of Chautauqua Institution’s service commitment.

Other duties as assigned.

Referral Program Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program offers a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) to active employees who refer a new candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90 days from the first physical date of work. For seasonal positions less than 6 months, the new candidate must remain employed for at least 30 days from the first physical date of work and until the closing date of the season. The closing date is the last Sunday in August.

Schedule Chautauqua Institution and Chautauqua Hotel Company offer flexible schedules, including full and part‑time, for seasonal summer operations (June–August). Seasonal employment may begin earlier (pre‑season) or continue beyond the season based on business needs and candidate availability. Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and may require overtime. This position averages between 35 – 40 hours per week.

Living On The Grounds The institution may offer limited housing options for select opportunities; however, housing is not generally provided for this position unless otherwise stated.
