CALS Academic Affairs is located in 116 Agricultural Hall and houses multiple units that work together to uplift students in the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences (CALS).

Schedule Campus Student Hourly Rules: UW-Madison student employees must average below 30 hours/week across all campus jobs (for any 90 day period). Be aware of this when planning other potential employment.
Ambassadors will work Information Sessions each Monday from approximately 1:00pm-3:30pm and Fridays from 1:00pm-3:30pm.
Ambassadors typically work 4-8 hours per week. Scheduling is based on programming needs and may change.
Potential to work additional CALS events as needed.
Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum Minimum: $15.00

Enrolled as a CALS student in good academic standing
Excited and motivated to learn about and share CALS programs, opportunities, and resources
Committed to working with and fostering an inclusive environment for students and guests from diverse cultural, economic, ethnic, regional, and religious backgrounds
Priority will be given to Work Study Eligible students; we encourage all CALS students to apply
Priority will be given to students who are interested in working in Madison over the summer and will continue at UW‑Madison for at least three consecutive semesters.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
High level of professionalism and strong customer service skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable with public speaking
Position Summary/Job Duties CALS Ambassadors work with prospective and admitted students to present and respond to questions about academic, professional, and social opportunities in CALS. They work closely with the CALS Student Recruitment Coordinator and CALS Assistant Dean of Recruitment and Outreach. They assist in presenting information sessions, leading CALS campus tours, meeting with prospective and admitted students and families, and representing CALS Academic Affairs. Most work is in-person, with limited remote/virtual opportunities.
Responsibilities
Present at CALS Information Sessions, contribute personal student experiences, and answer visitors’ questions
Lead CALS-focused campus tours for visiting students and their guests
Attend regular training and team meetings
Assist in coordination and execution of CALS student events, including administrative work in Google Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Word
Connect with prospective and admitted students; respond to questions
Provide support to various offices within CALS Academic Affairs, including Career Services, Study Abroad, and Academic Advising
Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, guests, and team members
Collaborate with a team of professional staff and other Ambassadors
Physical Demands Ability to lead and present a 1-hour outdoor walking tour. May be asked to lift/carry items weighing up to 40 pounds if applicable. Please contact benjamin.salomon@wisc.edu with any questions regarding physical demands and/or accommodations.
