Role Overview: Within the Accounting function at BenchPrep, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team. Your focus will be on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, analyzing data, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements to support the company’s financial health and strategic decision‑making. This is a senior staff accountant role requiring strong accounting, financial analysis, and reporting skills.

Manage accounting function including account reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing analysis.

Review company expenditures and confirm proper allocation of expenses; report to relevant departments.

Ensure transactions comply with GAAP and company policies.

Analyze billing transactions and revenue recognition policies.

Review general ledger accounts and post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals.

Assist in building financial statements and performing budget variance analysis.

Assist in budgeting for management review.

Prepare year‑end schedules for annual tax returns.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.

3‑5 years Staff Accountant or 5‑8 years Senior Accountant experience (public accounting preferred).

Deep knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial statement preparation.

Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Team player with a positive attitude and a self‑starter mindset.

Detail‑oriented and organized, able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting systems (NetSuite, Intacct, QuickBooks).
