Position Overview
Exact Sciences’ Customer Experience (CX) team is responsible for defining, driving, and delivering innovative, immersive, memorable customer-centric journeys for all our customers, across all channels (digital and physical). These journeys are grouped by Customer Types (e.g., Patient, Provider) and further categorized into a set of Experiences (e.g., Understand Risks & Complete Screening, Confirm Diagnosis). Each Experience has a set of specific, measurable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that the overall team is accountable to fulfill.
Responsibilities
Lead
and facilitate collaboration with strategists, researchers, product leaders, legal, regulatory, medical, labs, and the Experience Design team to produce scalable deliverables across journeys and platforms with minimal guidance.
Support a team of designers, providing informal coaching, feedback, and direction to help them do their best work on a project.
Research and stay up-to-date to support the adoption of enterprise-wide design best practices, standards, principles, and the usage of AI in daily practice.
Develop advanced prototypes and animations or define motion characteristics.
Advocate for user research within the UX vision, providing strategic rigor throughout creation of products and experiences from conception to launch and optimization/governance.
Evolve and champion the design system to drive efficiencies and tailor to audience needs.
Serve as a subject-matter expert in design and help lead partners and peers to think how design drives utility and inspiration.
Remove impediments and ensure delivery of the overall experience vision and OKR-aligned results; build and maintain relationships with senior leadership and other departments (e.g., Marketing).
Lead the adaption of enterprise-wide UX best practices and design thinking processes for use by UX, Product, and Development teams; advocate for these standards.
Create systems and strategies that help designers thrive using design thinking, storytelling, and prototyping to convey vision and features.
Understand and prioritize time, problems, opportunities, and solutions contributing to the product roadmap, strategy, and vision using data, research, trends, and business objectives.
Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment and model inclusive behaviors for the organization.
Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
Ability to effectively manage legal reviews and feedback cycles.
Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
Travel Requirements: Ability to travel 10-20% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or related field; or High School Degree/GED and 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
8+ years of UX Design experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead capacity.
Experience with modern UX design techniques, discovery, and delivery, and with design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Miro, Jira).
Experience with content management systems (Sitecore a plus) and user testing tools.
Ability to simplify and communicate complex ideas to broad audiences.
Experience managing design processes from strategy to delivery.
Experience collaborating with and influencing product, engineering, design, and operational teams.
Experience in creating designs for varied ecosystems that leverage personas/archetypes, SEO, and measurement objectives.
Advanced understanding of accessible, inclusive, and equitable design.
Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related design tools; understanding of current web and mobile technology landscape.
Advanced understanding of human-centered design and design thinking methodologies.
Experience with design systems (Material, Carbon, Fluent) and evolving/building them.
Experience translating complex requirements into clear UX deliverables; strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare, wellness, or digital health.
Experience with service design and operations.
Experience with B2C and B2B products/services.
Experience within large organizations.

Salary Range:
National: $124,000 - 211,000
California: $150,420 - $225,630
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. This position is bonus eligible.
