Scrub a Lil Deepa | Contract | On-site | Gloucester City, NJ + South Jersey markets
Farmers Market Sales Associate (Weekend / Pop-Ups)
This is for you if…
You’re the kind of person who actually cares what’s in products. You like talking to people. You’re comfortable being outside, moving, setting up, selling, and making customers feel taken care of—not pressured.
At our booth, you’re not just ringing people up. You’re helping them find something better and explaining why it’s better in a way that feels human.
What you’ll be doing
Run our booth at farmers markets and community events (setup → sales → breakdown)
Talk with customers, ask the right questions, and recommend products confidently
Explain ingredients and usage in a simple, real way (we’ll train you)
Keep the table clean, stocked, and looking premium all day
Process payments (Square), handle cash, and stay organized
Help track inventory + note what’s selling / what people ask for
What we care about (read this) We don’t need a “marketing assistant.” We need a
strong in-person seller
who:
Enjoys talking with people and can hold a conversation easily
Has good instincts and can recommend without sounding scripted
Shows up on time, takes ownership, and doesn’t need babysitting
Can work outdoors and stay upbeat through a full shift
Can lift/tote product bins and help with setup (up to ~40 lbs)
Who you’ll do best as
You’re into health/wellness in real life (you pay attention to ingredients, routines, food, habits)
You take pride in quality and don’t like selling junk
You’re confident and calm in a busy environment
You like the feeling of a strong sales day—and you want to be part of building something
Schedule
Most events are
weekends
(primarily Saturday or Sunday mornings/afternoons – we work with you to set up your market calendar in advance.)
Markets run
4–6 hours
plus
setup/breakdown
You must be able to arrive early and stay through breakdown
Additional sales & sales assistant opportunities (assisting other marketers and/or selling and managing accounts) are made available throughout the season.
Pay
Starting at $16 /hr+ (with performance bonus/incentives)
Mandatory (paid) training dates required
Opportunity to grow into more markets / lead responsibilities
How to Apply
Your weekend availability (be specific — Saturdays, Sundays, both?)
A short summary of your customer-facing experience (retail, restaurants, events, etc.)
One sentence on why this role interests you
Attach a résumé if you have one (not required).
Not a fit
if: you hate talking to strangers, dislike being outdoors, or need a slow/quiet work environment.
We’ll reach out to schedule a quick call with strong candidates and outline next steps from there.
