Position Overview WOCOTM is seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Content Creator (NGO) to support the organization’s digital communications and storytelling efforts. This volunteer role plays a critical part in amplifying WOCOTM’s mission, programs, and advocacy initiatives across multiple digital platforms. The Social Media Content Creator will collaborate closely with the Marketing & Communications team to produce engaging, culturally responsive content that raises awareness, builds community, and inspires action. Key Responsibilities Content Development & Storytelling

Create engaging, mission-driven content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and TikTok.

Develop captions, short‑form posts, graphic concepts, and storytelling narratives aligned with WOCOTM’s brand voice.

Translate programs, campaigns, events, and advocacy initiatives into compelling digital content.

Tailor messaging to diverse audiences and platform‑specific engagement styles.

Collaborate with designers and content contributors to strengthen visual storytelling.

Social Media Strategy & Campaign Support

Assist in developing and executing social media content calendars.

Support awareness, fundraising, advocacy, and program promotion campaigns.

Research trends, hashtags, and digital engagement strategies to increase reach.

Monitor engagement metrics and provide insight‑based recommendations.

Identify innovative storytelling formats such as reels, carousels, short‑form video, testimonials, and impact stories.

Brand Alignment & Quality Assurance

Ensure all content aligns with organizational values, mission, and brand standards.

Edit and proofread content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.

Maintain inclusive, empowering, and culturally responsive messaging.

Uphold ethical communication practices and confidentiality when required.

Collaboration & Digital Engagement

Partner with internal teams to gather content, stories, and program highlights.

Support cross‑functional marketing and outreach initiatives.

Participate in virtual marketing meetings and strategy sessions.

Engage with the online community in alignment with brand guidelines (as assigned).

Technology & Tools

Utilize AI tools to enhance productivity and content development.

Work within Microsoft 365 and shared digital collaboration platforms.

Use Canva, Meta Business Suite, or similar tools for scheduling and coordination (preferred).

Additional duties may be assigned as organizational needs evolve.

Volunteer Role Notice This is a non‑paid, volunteer role. Individuals serving in this capacity are not employees of the organization and do not receive financial compensation or employment benefits. Time commitment expectations and responsibilities will be mutually agreed upon in writing.

Qualifications Education & Background – Preferred

Coursework or degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Nonprofit Management, or related field.

Training or certification in social media marketing, digital communications, or content strategy.

Experience & Competencies

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Experience creating content for social media platforms or digital campaigns.

Understanding of social media trends, analytics, and platform best practices.

Ability to communicate with empathy, cultural awareness, and purpose.

Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Ability to meet deadlines in a remote, collaborative environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and virtual collaboration tools.

Familiarity with Canva, Meta Business Suite, or similar platforms preferred.

Experience working with nonprofits, NGOs, or advocacy organizations preferred.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
