Scope of Position This highly motivated individual is part of a dynamic team that helps PVI New York Sales enter a new phase of growth. The Outside Sales Representative sells and markets products for distribution (B2B) to contractors and industrial businesses in the customer’s place of business. The role requires the vigorous pursuit of bid/spec business and will work closely with Engineers, Contractors, Wholesalers, and internal PVI Watts partners
This position will be a part of a compact and nimble sales and marketing team that reports directly to the NY Sales Manager. The incumbent will ideally be based out of NYC or the surrounding area. The sales territory will cover the assigned territory: NYC- Five boroughs, Rockland, Putnam, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester County
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and negotiate sales
Perform inside and outside sales activities to acquire new customers, as well as project-based work for current customers
Build and maintain customer relationships and be the point of contact for current and potential customers
Demonstrate products to Engineers, Contractors, and Wholesalers by way of samples, catalogues, and PDH-approved Lunch and Learns
Develop relationships with Facility Managers, Building & Business Owners, and other buyers using a consultative sales approach
Prepare marketing and sales reports and implement marketing projects
Attend trade shows and industry events as required to represent our products in the marketplace
Comfortable facilitating or leading training sessions for groups of 15 to 20 attendees
Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager, NY Sales, or the Company management
Responsibility is directly tied to Watts Value Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, and Transparency

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, and/or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or 4 plus years of equivalent work experience
Proven ability to develop new business and close sales, and proven business development skills and demeanor
Experience working in the Plumbing and HVAC Industry
Technically oriented individual; must possess strong computer software skills (familiarity with social media, email, CRM, spreadsheets, and document programs)
Customer‑centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into solutions
Ability to work under pressure, multitask, prioritize, and close multiple sales leads
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish mutually beneficial commitments and expectations with customers, internally and externally
Highly motivated, self‑starter who can handle workload and take initiative
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Coordination and influencing skills
Strong team player, work ethic, and committed to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good organizational skills

Experience in negotiation of sales opportunities and contract terms
Products include Water Heaters, Expansion Products include Water Heaters, Expansion Tanks, Digital Mixing Valves, and Commercial Pumps
Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable
Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre‑employment testing as a condition of employment

The sales territory will cover the assigned territory: NYC- Five boroughs, Rockland, Putnam, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties
Physical Requirements Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:
Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods
Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods
Ability to physically move around the office, organize, or transport files, packages, and other office‑related materials
Ability to read documents, use a computer, and perform data‑entry tasks
Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls
Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers
Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment
Ability to climb ladders and stairs; bend or stoop; extended periods of walking; regular exposure to weather conditions; operate motor vehicles; and the ability to operate power and/or hand tools
Pay Range The expected salary range for this position is $101,000–$115,000 yearly with a generous commission package and car allowance. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law
