
We are seeking an experienced
Inside Sales Manager – Order Operations & ERP
to lead and execute the complete inside sales and order fulfillment process across multiple locations. This role owns order accuracy, pick ticket generation, inventory coordination, and invoicing readiness—ensuring consistency, efficiency, and reliability within our ERP system (Epicor Prophet 21 preferred).
This is a
hands‑on leadership role . The Inside Sales Manager will initially manage a team of three inside sales representatives while personally assisting with daily order processing. The ideal candidate brings strong process discipline, understands ERP‑driven order‑to‑cash workflows, and can build a scalable inside sales and order operations structure.
Responsibilities Order Operations & Execution
Manage the full order lifecycle: sales order entry → pick ticket generation → fulfillment coordination → invoicing readiness
Ensure accurate order entry, inventory allocation, and ERP data integrity
Monitor and reduce order errors, missed orders, and invoicing discrepancies
Serve as the primary point of accountability for inside sales order execution
ERP & Process Ownership
Act as the functional owner for internal ERP workflows (Epicor P21 preferred)
Identify process gaps and system inefficiencies; lead corrective actions
Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Partner with Sales, Warehouse, Operations, and Finance to ensure consistent execution across branches
Lead, train, coach, and hold accountable inside sales/order processing staff
Establish clear roles, expectations, and performance standards
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team growth
Build cross‑training and redundancy to eliminate single points of failure
Make tough decisions when necessary to maintain operational discipline
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with outside sales, warehouse managers, and operations leadership
Proactively resolve issues related to inventory availability and fulfillment timing
Serve as a reliable escalation point for order‑related challenges
Performance Metrics & Reporting
Track and report KPIs: order accuracy, cycle times, fulfillment readiness, error rates
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across locations
Success Metrics
Reduction in order and invoicing errors
Documented and adopted SOPs
Improved cross‑location consistency
Reduced dependency on any single employee
Foundation established for scalable inside sales operations
Effective player‑manager contribution in the early stages
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of inventory allocation and order fulfillment
Ability to operate independently and remain composed under pressure
Excellent communication, leadership, and accountability skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
Epicor Prophet 21 (P21)
Background in
industrial distribution, MRO, manufacturing, or energy
Experience developing SOPs and improving order workflows
Education & Experience
5+ years of experience in
inside sales, sales operations, or order management
Prior experience managing or leading teams
