Take this opportunity as we now are looking for a Country Manager / Trade Commissioner to head our operations in Türkiye.

As Country Manager / Trade Commissioner, you will head our operations in Türkiye, supporting Swedish companies in their international growth and helping foreign companies invest and expand in Sweden. You will also play an active role in regional and global initiatives, building strong partnerships and fostering cross-border collaboration with Türkiye as your main market, complemented by responsibility for selected neighboring growth markets.

Our Istanbul office currently consists of 5 dedicated colleagues. Together with our teams across Europe, we form a dynamic and successful network with a shared ambition to create maximum impact for our clients.

You will have full profit & loss and personnel responsibility for Business Sweden’s operations in Türkiye. The role includes strategic, tactical, and operational responsibilities such as:

Representing Swedish business interests and Business Sweden in the market and region

Driving sales and marketing of our services to existing and potential clients in Sweden, Türkiye, and relevant surrounding markets

Maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

Leading and participating in the execution of consulting and internationalization projects

Inspiring and developing the team, and continuously improving business processes

Acting from a global perspective to promote Swedish industry and innovation

Collaborating within Team Sweden, including coordinating export promotion with development cooperation

Working closely with the Swedish Embassy and other official representations, serving as an official representative of Sweden in the market

The position is based in Istanbul, with international collaboration across Business Sweden’s global network.

Formal requirements

Higher academic degree, preferably a Master’s in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, ideally from a consultancy or similar environment

Proven leadership experience with direct personnel responsibility

Experience managing multi‑stakeholder projects in complex regional settings

Strong track record in selling and delivering complex market expansion advisory services

High proficiency in English; Swedish is required, Turkish is meriting

Experience of living and/or working in Türkiye and adjacent markets is a merit

Swedish citizenship is required

Additional language skills relevant to nearby markets are considered an advantage

Employment with us requires placement in a security‑classified position. Swedish citizenship is generally required. A comprehensive security clearance, including a background check, will be conducted prior to employment.
