About the Role We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented

Lighting Designer

to support the design, development, and implementation of lighting solutions for architectural, laboratory, healthcare, commercial, and hospitality projects. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career designers looking to gain hands-on experience and grow under the guidance of senior designers.

Key Responsibilities

Asist into day-to-day design and technical support on a variety of projects.

Assist in developing lighting concepts and design layouts based on project requirements.

Support senior designers with research, preparation of graphic presentation materials and mock-ups.

Prepare documentation including lighting fixtures, lamps, controls selections, lighting plans, layouts, details, lighting fixture specifications, schedules, etc.

Verify designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client expectations.

Participating in project meetings and site visits, on-site mockups as needed.

Perform field visits during the construction stage to evaluate the work, direct the aiming of lights and the programming of lighting control systems.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, Architecture, Interior Design, Product Design, Theatrical Lighting Design, or master’s degree in Lighting Design.

Knowledge of lighting principles, terminology (intensity, distribution, color rendition, etc), lighting controls systems, industry standards and calculations including AGI.

Familiarity with design software: Revit, ACAD or similar.

Strong design sensibility, attention to detail and time management skills.

Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize competing demands.

Ability to collaborate in a team environment and take direction.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

This position in New York City, NY $75,000 to $100,000 plus eligibility for yearly bonus depending on years of experience, licensure, skill sets and education. Competitive 401K company match, flexible work schedule, benefits and wellness programs.
