This sales account manager works to develop new accounts for the company, Elkhart Plastics, as well as maintain and build upon the existing relationships already in the market. As a manufacturer with multiple locations, this individual will concentrate on the RV Industry selling directly to business customers. An understanding of the RV Industry is essential to the individual's success.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain records for sales leads and progress status of accounts.
Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities.
Attend sales and/or trade meetings.
Build relationships and identify the prospect's need for the products or services.
Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and to explain how specific products and services can meet these needs
Answer customers' questions about prices, availability, and product uses
Negotiate prices and terms of sale and service agreements
Prepare sales contracts and submit orders for processing
Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies and marketing information
Travel required 30%
Qualifications / Other Related Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, engineering or related field
Excellent math and computer skills
Prior experience with manufacturing sales required
Prior experience selling RV products required.
Five years’ experience developing business relationships
Understanding or manufacturing technology
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to change direction as the market changes
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
Work requires significant overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
