Role Description

This is an independent contractor role that is approximately 95 percent remote, with limited on-site support during conference weeks (approximately 5 percent travel) in the Chicago area. The Senior Sponsorship Sales Manager is responsible for driving sponsorship revenue across Converge Events’ conference portfolio by developing new sponsor relationships, managing active opportunities, and closing sponsorship agreements. The role is outcomes-driven and is focused on building pipeline, converting qualified interest, and expanding sponsors across multiple events. Responsibilities

Own the full sponsorship sales cycle across multiple events, from prospecting through close Respond promptly to inbound sponsor inquiries and convert interest into qualified sales conversations Generate outbound opportunities through email, LinkedIn, referrals, and professional networking Build and manage a multi-event pipeline, with clear next steps and accurate forecasting Cross-sell and bundle sponsorship opportunities across the Converge Events portfolio Develop tailored sponsorship proposals based on sponsor goals and event value Partner with the Event Producer to finalize sponsorship terms and agreements Provide pipeline and activity updates on an agreed cadence Support sponsor engagement and fulfillment during virtual and in-person events Participate in planning meetings as needed to ensure sponsor success and revenue delivery Qualifications

Five or more years of B2B sponsorship, media, or event sales experience with measurable results Strong performance in both inbound lead conversion and outbound pipeline generation Clear, persuasive communication style with strong follow-up and closing discipline Able to manage multiple opportunities and sales cycles at once Comfortable using a customer relationship management system (such as HubSpot or Salesforce) and Zoom Experience with value-based selling and consultative deal structuring Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage work independently and hit deadlines Bonus: Experience selling into banking, treasury, financial technology, or professional services Contractor will control how and when work is performed, subject to agreed deliverables, deadlines, and conference support requirements.
