The eXp Revenue Share model is a powerful way for agents to build passive, long-term wealth by helping the company grow. Unlike traditional "Profit Share" models, Revenue Share is paid out of eXp’s top-line revenue before expenses are deducted. Here is a concise breakdown of how it works.
1. The 80/20 Foundation Every agent at eXp starts on an 80/20 commission split. The 20% that goes to eXp is used to fund the company’s operations and the Revenue Share program. You are not taking money away from the agents you sponsor; the company is simply sharing its portion of the split with you for bringing them in.
2. Tiered Payout Structure The program is built on a seven-tier system. You earn a percentage of the Gross Commission Income (GCI) from the agents you personally sponsor (Tier 1) and from the agents they sponsor (Tiers 2 through 7).
Tier 1: You earn 3.5% of the GCI from every agent you directly sponsor. On a typical $10,000 commission, that is $350 paid directly to you. This continues until that agent caps for the year.
Tier 2 to Tier 7 To "unlock" the ability to earn on these deeper tiers, you must have a specific number of "Frontline Qualifying Agents" (FLQA). These are agents you directly sponsored who are active and producing.
3. Passive Income Potential Because this is based on revenue, not profit, you receive these payments the month after the transaction closes. It creates a predictable stream of income that is independent of your own sales production.
4. Expansion and Legacy One of the most unique aspects of the eXp model is that your Revenue Share is a "willable" asset. You can build a business within a business that provides for your family even after you retire from active sales.
