About Specialty Sales
Specialty Sales is a team of consultants who understand guest needs and provide strong operations, guest experience, and visual merchandising. Teams across Apparel & Accessories, Home, Seasonal, Beauty, Electronics, and Baby prioritize guest experience while ensuring product availability through pulling, filling, pricing, setting, staging, and maintaining the sales floor and backroom.
Key Skills and Knowledge
Guest service fundamentals and building a guest‑first culture
Retail business fundamentals including sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotions strategies
Planning department workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals
Leading multiple businesses, balancing team member expertise in each department
Leading a team of hourly members; skills in interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent
Typical Responsibilities
Model, train, and coach the GUEST service model culture.
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through inclusive behaviors and bias management.
Understand sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload to drive department and store sales goals and guest engagement; including merchandising, pricing, transitions, revisions, sales plans, events, and promotions.
Work a flexible schedule that aligns to guest and business needs (early morning, evening, overnight shifts, weekends).
Lead a team of consultants knowledgeable and passionate about A&A, Home, Seasonal, Beauty, Electronics and Baby.
Encourage teams to use department tools (e.g., fitting rooms, testers, displays) to inspire guests.
Ensure product is organized, signed correctly, and merchandised to support seasonal trends.
Lead backroom processes, layout, and replenishment to keep product available for guests.
Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions and develop a guest‑centric team.
Lead onboarding, learning, and close product knowledge gaps through coaching.
Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe (if applicable).
Set clear goals and hold team members accountable.
Provide a shopping experience that meets guests’ needs, including clearance.
Lead ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; hold team accountable to safe practices.
Advocate safety culture: understand safety impact, identify and correct hazards, and hold team accountable. If applicable, follow all safe and secure training and processes.
Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.).
Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick‑up, and Drive‑up; maintain compliance with local laws.
Perform any other duties based on business needs.

Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and regular attendance necessary.
