WHAT YOU WILL DO
Coordinate logistics for all crews in the field
Prioritize and execute coverage of breaking news
Formulate contacts and resources to uncover enterprise journalism
Work to confirm stories
Write and create content on all FOX13 digital platforms
Stay up to date on evolving journalism trends and tactics
Understand our research and our community to prioritize the stories we cover
Manage feeds going into all newscasts
Plan ahead to build tomorrow’s newscast today
Build coverage plans for major events and significant stories
Cultivate content constantly!
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in journalism, broadcasting, or related field
Prior newsroom experience is a plus
Understanding of AP-style writing
Strong knowledge of social media platforms
Ability to multi-task
Strong organizational and communication skills
Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism
Thorough understanding of our crime filter and comprehension of ethical journalism
Knowledge of the Memphis market is a plus
