Interior Designer (5–8 Years) Role Overview
This is a 5–8 year Interior Designer position supporting a range of commercial interior projects. You’ll operate as a key member of a small but growing interiors group, working alongside senior Interior Architects while also taking on meaningful ownership of design direction, client communication, and project coordination. This role is ideal for someone who’s ready to step into a more independent, leadership‑leaning position without losing the support of experienced mentors.
Core Responsibilities
Lead portions of commercial interior projects from concept through documentation
Develop design concepts, space plans, finish palettes, and presentation materials
Produce and oversee Revit‑based documentation; review work for accuracy and quality
Participate in — and increasingly lead — client meetings and presentations
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal team members
Provide guidance to junior designers when needed
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a non‑siloed environment
Contribute to design strategy, problem‑solving, and project decision‑making
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must‑Haves
5–8 years of professional interior design experience, with strong commercial project exposure
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
Advanced Revit proficiency — this is a daily production tool
Strong understanding of commercial interiors standards, codes, and documentation
NCIDQ certified or actively working toward certification
Confident communicator with the ability to make strong first impressions with clients
Demonstrated initiative, independence, and ability to “own” tasks from start to finish
Nice‑to‑Haves
SketchUp for conceptual modeling
Experience mentoring junior designers
Broader commercial project variety (workplace, civic, education, etc.)
Who Thrives in This Role
They’re looking for someone who:
Shows strong initiative and takes ownership of their work
Is comfortable working independently but knows when to ask questions
Is a creative problem solver who can propose solutions, not just execute tasks
Enjoys client interaction and can confidently represent the firm

Exposure to multiple project types at once (no studio silos)
