
Overview Spathe is currently searching for a part‑time Layout Designer to join our team in the Tampa, FL area. Spathe Systems is a rapidly growing SOF‑led, 8(a) defense contractor headquartered in Tampa, FL with offices in Fayetteville, NC and strategic partner locations in Virginia Beach and Coronado. Responsibilities
Advise Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) Press Editor in Chief on industry (i.e., Department of Defense (DoD) academia) standard layout, design, and printing practices and specifications.
Prepare and/or review JSOU Press print requests/orders, inputs to Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPR), and other necessary documents for correspondence between JSOU Press, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and contracted printers.
Execute design and layout of JSOU Press manuscripts to ensure content and quality are sustained in accordance with JSOU Press standards.
Collaborate with editors to create digital mockups for JSOU approval, balance layout elements, and perform editorial tasks with knowledge of DoD terminology, mission, and systems.
Convert JSOU Press publications to ePub format.
Send print files to DLA via DoD Secure Access File Exchange.
Maintain J Cloud storage for all JSOU Press working and archiving files.
Qualifications
SECRET clearance eligible
BA/BS in relevant field (e.g., Graphic Design, Media Art) and Five years' experience using Adobe Creative Suite (esp. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and InCopy).
OR AAA/AAS in relevant field (e.g., Multimedia Technology, Media Art) and Ten years' experience using Adobe Creative Suite (esp. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and InCopy).
Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Travel: Up to 10% travel during the year.
