Role Description This is a contract role for a Video Editor at Nicholas Crown located in Chicago, IL. The Video Editor will be responsible for video production support, all editing, color grading, motion graphics, and graphics on-site.
What You'll Do
Collaborate directly with Nicholas and the founding team
Develop and pitch new content ideas
Shoot short-form and long-form video (studio and on-location)
Edit for retention and pacing across social media platforms
Turn one idea into multiple platform-native assets
Study performance data and refine creative direction (iterative feedback loop)
Help evolve our visual identity and storytelling style
You will be hands-on and take concepts from idea to published content.
Drive traffic and conversions on Nicholas’s digital properties and newsletter
Qualifications
3+ years producing social-first video content, videography and editing
Comfort with financial concepts and topics
Strong portfolio of short-form work with proven engagement
Confident behind a camera and in an editing suite
Video Color Grading, Motion Graphics, and Graphics skills
Deep understanding of hooks, retention, and audience psychology
Understanding of simple lighting setup to improve video quality
Fast execution without sacrificing quality
Creative instincts backed by data
Bonus if you’ve worked with founders, personal brands, or education/finance content.
Salary Negotiable with experience and skill level.
