Camp Director at Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center Earn $18.00 or more per hour AND play for free! You and all employees receive free access to Allen Recreation Facilities while on the team. Camp Director – Lead the Adventure! Are you ready to be the captain of a summer full of fun, learning, and unforgettable memories? STRC is looking for a dynamic, energetic Camp Director to create an experience that kids, parents, and staff will rave about. As our Camp Director, you’ll be the heart of the adventure, leading a team of enthusiastic staff, coordinating exciting activities, and ensuring every camper has a safe, fun, and memorable summer. Responsibilities

Oversee seasonal youth camp operations by coordinating the activities of the camp and supervising related programs, field trips, and activities. Supervise personnel by assisting in training, observing and monitoring work tasks, evaluating work performance, assisting employees to correct deficiencies, scheduling the necessary employees for facility operations and submitting time sheets for payroll. Instruct and/or train personnel to lead a variety of activities including but not limited to arts and crafts, games, nature education and other outdoor related activities. Work closely with Recreation Program Supervisor to plan and coordinate activities; provide assistance in other parks and recreation programs as needed, including the Allen USA Celebration. Provide customer service by maintaining positive interpersonal relations with all who are involved in the summer camp program; including children, parents, staff, vendors and general public. Monitor the use of recreation equipment and ensure it is used according to its intended use; ensure all equipment is returned to its original location and stored in an organized fashion. Follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures outlined in City of Allen local standards of care and handbook. Must have a desire to work with children and be able to work every week of seasonal camp. Ensure a high level of safety for participants and personnel during the program and administer basic first aid, as certified, as necessary. Education & Experience

Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: High School diploma or equivalent plus one (1) year of relevant work experience. Experience working with youth, prior day camp experience, or experience programming camp activities preferred. Certification and Other Requirements

Valid Class C Driver's License CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain by May 26th (training provided). Must be at least eighteen (18) years old Work Schedule

Must be available for work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. between May 26th through August 7th. Knowledge

Camp operations, youth programming, and staff supervision. Safety protocols, CPR/First Aid, and emergency procedures. Recreational activity planning (arts, crafts, sports, nature, etc.). Customer service practices, local standards of care, and City of Allen PRIDE values. Skills

Leading camp staff and coordinating daily operations. Planning and supervising recreational activities. Communicating effectively with children, parents, and staff. Enforcing safety standards and responding to incidents. Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Standard office and recreation facility environment Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Ability to operate a City or personal vehicle for business-related purposes Note:
