Position: Account Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA

Job Description The Account Manager role is a position that will execute on specific, defined objectives to exceed customer expectations and augment primary selling activities in the areas of account adoption, retention, and expansion to minimize customer churn and maximize portfolio penetration of customer accounts. The Account Manager role will also conduct ongoing customer post-sale performance analysis and link appropriate resources to address evolving customer needs. The role will support Forward customers and be measured on customer growth, expansion and retention targets.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

Drive customer and revenue retention

Work through new business onboarding and implementation as a liaison between sales and the customer enablement/onboarding teams to transition prospects into active users and improve new business acquisition rates

Foster outstanding customer relationships by providing input to business reviews, project managing solutions, exhibiting outstanding communication skills, both oral and written

Leverage tools and dashboards to understand the customer’s business and supply chain to analyze customer needs to engage internal partners to develop and implement solutions

Penetrate the customer’s organization to develop an understanding of the customer’s business and supply chain post sale needs to enhance customer experience

Collaborate with internal Forward business partners including sales and operations to ensure the customer’s needs are met while creating a customer-specific fact base to project manage root cause----corrective action as necessary

Utilizing and mastering our CRM application “Salesforce.com”

Contribute to customer adoption of the Forward portfolio of services as well as tools and technologies to simplify and improve overall customer experience

Demonstrate integrity, initiative, organization, discipline, and adaptability while working in a dynamic selling environment

Provide customer contact in an assigned territory necessary to achieve retention, renewals and revenue expansion as measured by expanded use of the Forward portfolio

Work directly with clients to help solve their problems and ensure their satisfaction while they are an active account

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field preferred

3+ years of experience in account management supporting 3PL's, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry

Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing accounts

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Knowledge of CRM software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite

Skills

The ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic

Must have the ability to work in a fast paced/high volume sales environment
