Overview Job Title: Salon Business Consultant. Great opportunity! Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around Brainerd, Alexandria, St. Cloud, Nisswa, Park Rapids, Sartell, Little Falls, Aitken Minnesota (MN).

Ideal candidate would reside in or near the following cities: Brainerd MN. Uncapped Commission, vehicle reimbursement plan and full benefits!

Responsibilities

Grow the Business:

Identify key accounts within the territory and establish a route that will be most efficient to grow and develop existing customers while seeking new partnerships.

Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring and tracking results of all in-salon promotions, programs and concepts.

Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs.

Communicate all sales initiatives through partnering with vendors to achieve corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Acknowledge and respond to all email, text, and phone communication in a timely manner (within 24 hours).

Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within each salon.

Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals.

Strictly comply with procedures regarding processing returns and related documentation; complete assignments in a timely manner.

Collaborate with all areas of the business (customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and other necessary functions).

Actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets.

Manage administrative aspects of the role in a timely manner, including daily order entry and maintaining customer information in Salesforce.com.

Attract and retain salon clientele by using social media as a communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge tool.

Conduct effective in-person and virtual product knowledge classes.

Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, follow-up plans, and needed assistance.

Grow Team and Culture:

Be a subject matter expert on utilizing digital platforms and social media to grow the business. Share knowledge with peers to grow the team’s digital capabilities.

Attend all meetings, functions and events and maintain regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.

Must be available to attend shows, participate in setup and dismantling of displays, booths, handling back stock, and other physical activities as required.

Support all new initiatives with a growth mindset and foster change management throughout the team.

Grow Yourself:

Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow; pursue continuous improvement while developing digital & social media techniques to generate new customers and strengthen relationships.

Schedule and attend business development days (BDD) to increase product knowledge and develop vendor relationships.

Allocate and optimize time to participate in learning using available tools and resources.

Remain agile to market changes while building industry knowledge and intuition to respond to a competitive market.

Increase own product, industry, and market knowledge.

Create an organized work environment and workflow to efficiently service customers.

Experience And Skills Required

High school diploma or equivalent certification.

Minimum of one (1) year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling.

Must live within the assigned territory.

Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred.

Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms to build pipelines, books of business, and other business needs.

Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Salesforce, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle. Experience with iPad is a plus.

Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and other internet tools.

This position requires local travel within the territory and attendance at shows, conventions, and educational events, which may include overnight travel and some weekend nights.

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Frequent and sometimes prolonged periods of driving are necessary for this role.

Committed to working scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours based on business needs.

Strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to present a professional business image and interact positively with the public.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts typical of offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles. Safety precautions include using office equipment safely, avoiding trips and falls, and observing fire regulations and traffic signals.
