The primary objective of this position is to assist in managing the Catering operations by proactively soliciting and directing catering related opportunities with significant revenue potential. The Catering Sales Manager will also oversee and administer operational aspects of preparing for member events as well as promoting, advertising and marketing these events. A focus will be in building and strengthening relationships with existing members and new clients to enable future bookings. This position will be working with the banquet and other departments to ensure that members and guests expectations are exceeded and delivery of the highest quality of food and service. The CSM will assist with timely payment collection at the conclusion of events, property tours, BEO packet preparation, floor plan diagrams and performing other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
Solicit new accounts and review previous Catering/Banquet files to generate business.
Interact with clients and prospective clients to determine needs and direct staff accordingly.
Must be able to direct and maintain the sales process.
Respond to inquiry phone calls/walk-ins.
Conduct site visits/entertain potential clients.
Assisted with the development, editing, and distribution of all banquet-related files that generate business.
Negotiate, prepare, and write proposals and contracts.
Works closely with Brides in the bridal market.
Brings imagination into each event.
Supervise and monitor the performance of Catering staff in the proper preparation of Banquet menus, memos, and files.
Tour and inspect banquet and meeting space.
Ensure that functions are set to client-specific standards and ready to begin on time.
Coordinate with other departments regarding client requests regarding the BEO process.
Assure of complete billing and deposit procedures as needed on a timely basis.
Attend staff and other club meetings as needed.
Performs other duties as requested by Supervisor.
Job Requirements
Two years experience in catering sales.
Solid understanding of banquet revenue generation.
Proven track record of sales performance.
Knowledge of social etiquette.
Creative menu development skills.
High energy, outgoing personality.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong technical literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel.
