The Senior Human Resources Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor and operational HR leader, partnering with distribution center leadership to align workforce and talent strategies with business priorities and performance goals. This role drives organizational effectiveness through workforce planning, leadership development, performance management, and associate engagement initiatives that support productivity, scalability, and service excellence. The Sr. HRBP strengthens leadership capability and bench strength through coaching, succession planning, and talent development while providing expert guidance on complex associate relations matters and risk mitigation. In partnership with HR Centers of Excellence, this role ensures effective execution of enterprise HR programs across talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, safety, and compliance. Leveraging workforce data and industry insights, the Sr. HRBP leads change initiatives, improves organizational performance, and fosters a culture aligned with company values, accountability, and continuous improvement.

A day in the life of a Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to supply chain and operations leadership by aligning talent strategies with business priorities and operational performance goals.

Translate business strategy into actionable workforce and organizational plans that support productivity, scalability, and service excellence.

Lead organizational design and workforce planning initiatives (staffing models, labor planning, peak readiness) to improve team effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Strengthen leadership bench strength by driving succession planning, talent reviews, and development planning across supported operations.

Coach and develop leaders at all levels to improve leadership capability, engagement, accountability, and performance outcomes.

Champion consistent and effective performance management practices, including coaching, feedback, documentation, and corrective action guidance.

Drive strategies that improve associate engagement, retention, workforce stability, and the overall employee experience across all shifts.

Provide expert leadership and guidance on complex associate relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution while mitigating organizational risk.

Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to implement and optimize programs related to talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, safety, and training.

Leverage workforce data, analytics, and business insights to identify trends, inform decision-making, and drive measurable organizational improvement.

Lead and support change management initiatives related to business growth, transformation, restructuring, and operational improvements like automation.

Ensure consistent and compliant application of HR policies, employment laws (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA), and regulatory requirements across operations.

Drive execution and adoption of enterprise HR programs, improving efficiency, consistency, and overall HR service delivery at the site level.

Champion company values and culture by strengthening leadership alignment and workforce connection through listening sessions and recognition programs.

Identify industry trends and continuous improvement opportunities that enhance workforce effectiveness and organizational performance.

What you’ll bring to the table

Minimum 5-7 years of progressive human resources or relevant leadership experience; experience in Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing, or Retail industries preferred.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Prior experience supporting large hourly employee client groups within a distribution center or manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and mentoring direct reports and partnering with matrixed HR teams.

Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with the ability to conduct complex investigations and maintain high levels of confidentiality.

Proven ability to assess talent, skills, and potential to influence effective succession planning and build a robust recruiting pipeline.

Ability to work onsite with a flex schedule to support multi-shift operations and travel up to 25% as needed.

Preferred:

HRCI/SHRM certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP); Union/Labor Relations experience; experience with site launches or network transformations; Google Suite proficiency; Bi-lingual/Spanish.

Proficiency in using HR metrics, Excel/Sheets, and reporting tools to diagnose issues, inform decisions, and measure impact.
