Job Purpose The IRA Specialist is responsible for the accurate administration, reporting, and compliance of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). This role requires hands‑on experience with IRS reporting forms, deep knowledge of IRA regulations, and the ability to stay current with ongoing regulatory and contribution limit changes. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, compliance‑focused, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a regulated financial environment.

Duties And Responsibilities
Administer Traditional, Roth, SEP, and SIMPLE IRA accounts in accordance with IRS and regulatory requirements
Prepare, review, and file IRS Forms 5498 and 1099‑R accurately and on time
Monitor and implement regulatory updates, including annual contribution limit increases and distribution rule changes
Ensure compliance with IRS, DOL, and applicable state regulations
Resolve account discrepancies and respond to internal and external inquiries
Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews
Coordinate with custodians, advisors, and internal teams to ensure smooth account operations
Assist with regulatory examinations and internal audits as needed
Contribute to process improvements and compliance controls
Required Qualifications
Proven experience administering IRAs
Direct experience preparing and filing Forms 5498 and 1099‑R
Strong working knowledge of IRA rules, tax reporting, and compliance requirements
Demonstrated ability to stay current with regulatory changes, including contribution limits and IRS guidance
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Proficiency with retirement account systems and Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of IRA or retirement plan administration experience
Experience working with custodians, trust companies, or financial services firms
Familiarity with ERISA and DOL guidelines
