TITLE : Director of Child & Club Safety REPORTS TO : Chief Facilities & Safety Officer CLASSIFIED : Full Time, Exempt MISSION : To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. JOB SUMMARY : The Director of Child and Club Safety ensures a safe, compliant environment for all children, staff, volunteers, and members across club sites. They lead the development and implementation of safety policies, provide training and support, oversee licensing and BGCA compliance, and monitor adherence to state and federal regulations. The Director partners with facility teams to address hazards, analyzes and reports on critical incidents, manages safety-related organizational data, and collaborates with training staff to ensure all employees are properly prepared to uphold safety standards. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Manages all compliance programs, policies, and reporting practices for BGCNP.
Collaborates with Unit Directors to ensure compliance with all club policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
Conducts quarterly and annual reviews to monitor adherence to rules and regulations.
Develops compliance strategies or programs for the company based on state and federal laws.
Evaluates team members' knowledge of policies and educates them on work-related laws and regulations.
Works with upper management to address ethical violations or compliance issues and find solutions.
Collaborates with licensing agents and club staff to ensure fee-based programs comply with the Department of Social Services and all state licensing accreditation entities.
Applies and submits for new licenses/permits.
Prepares and submits re-licensing applications by state regulations.
Performs periodic audits on licensed programs to ensure licensing requirements are met.
Creates and implements standard operating procedures for: roll-out of new laws and regulations; completion of screening requirements within the designated timeline; review process for regulatory compliance documentation.
Trains staff in their roles in the license/compliance process.
Establishes a site-visit schedule to ensure all procedures are being implemented.
Creates and maintains a file management system that meets licensing standards.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Experience in training, licensing & regulatory compliance is preferred.
Excellent project and time management and organizational skills.
Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of South Dakota licensing regulations.
Research skills to perform advanced analytical research to find reliable and relevant content.
Ability to work in a variety of online data platforms, software, and spreadsheets.
20% travel to other units, meetings, and training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must have the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, parents, etc., at the club to ensure the safety of the space.
Ability to stand/sit for long periods throughout a shift.
Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.
This position is considered to be safety-sensitive.
