
A leading industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a highly motivated
Technical Sales Representative
to join its team. This role is well suited for a professional with a strong background in
fluid power systems and hydraulic components , particularly within
custom hydraulic cylinder design and manufacturing
environments.
The primary focus of this position is to support and grow existing customer relationships while also playing an active role in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Customer Support & Sales Engineering
Provide technical support to customers and internal teams related to custom hydraulic cylinder applications.
Support the sales process by preparing accurate and competitive quotes for custom‑engineered hydraulic solutions.
Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure pricing accuracy and manufacturing feasibility.
Business Development
Research and identify prospective customers and market segments aligned with product and manufacturing capabilities.
Follow up on sales leads and customer inquiries using a consultative, solutions‑based approach.
Build new customer relationships through phone calls, email communication, and virtual or in‑person meetings.
After‑Sales & Quality Support
Partner with Quality Assurance to evaluate and process customer returns (RGAs), identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
Communicate directly with customers to resolve technical issues related to returned or non‑conforming products.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure production requirements align with customer expectations and design intent.
Provide internal engineering support, including 2D/3D documentation, design adjustments, and technical validation of components.
Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quote activity, engineering changes, and technical support efforts.
Assist with the preparation of technical documentation and product materials for both internal and customer use.
Qualifications
Minimum of
3 years of experience
in inside sales, technical sales, or applications engineering within the
fluid power or hydraulics industry .
Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, including pressure and tonnage calculations, cylinder sizing, and pump performance.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and hydraulic schematics.
Experience prospecting and developing new customer accounts.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience with
CRM systems, CAD software, and ERP systems
is a plus.
