Bloomberg, New York, New York, us, 10261

Save Job

Smarter, Faster, and as always - First. That's our philosophy. Bloomberg Media empowers global business leaders with breaking news, expert opinion and proprietary data distributed on every platform, across every time zone. Like our products and solutions- our teams are agile, dynamic, and innovative. We work hard, and we work fast - while keeping up the quality and accuracy for which we're known. It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We challenge each other. And through our countless volunteer projects, we help bring out the best in our communities as around us, too. You can do amazing work here. It's up to you to make it happen.

We’re hiring a hybrid Content Producer & Video Editor who can lead with video editing and also create/modify on-brand graphics (or showcase the ability to learn quickly), while navigating Bloomberg’s house systems, editorial priorities, templates and distribution workflows.

You’ll sit at the intersection of live news, breaking clips, exclusive interviews, produced packages, and digital/social distribution. You will be working closely with show teams and producers, the newsdesk, the TV assignment desk, and colleagues in the region and in offices around the world. This is a hands‑on role for someone who’s proactive, organized, collaborative, and thrives under deadline pressure.

We'll trust you to:

Edit fast and well across formats: breaking news clips, VOs/SOTs, multicam interviews (including translated tracks), digital‑first pieces, and occasional long‑form specials

Own visual polish: cut produced opens; build and update templated headshots, charts, full screens and maps in Photoshop/After Effects; ensure brand consistency and metadata hygiene

Support live shows: deliver clean, accurate elements on tight turnarounds for segments from 7 am–12 pm HKT; pivot quickly as news evolves

Package for every platform: prepare content for the Bloomberg Terminal, broadcast, web and social—meeting specs, aspect ratios, volume standards, captioning, and platform‑specific best practices

Pitch proactively: surface smart visuals, treatments and editorial angles; bring creativity that elevates segments and digital reach

Stay organized: follow best practices for project/multicam organization, shared storage, versioning, and handoffs; maintain tidy bins and timelines

Collaborate widely: partner with executive producers, show producers, assignment editors, journalists and other editors

Lean into the stack: work within Bloomberg house systems—asset management, templates, newsroom planning tools, distribution workflows, and the Bloomberg Terminal. Training available

Cover the news when it happens: take on early starts, late wraps and regular weekend/holiday shifts as assigned; fill in across shows and desk needs

You’ll need to have:

Demonstrated experience in a fast‑paced video production environment, such as a newsroom, broadcast studio, digital media outlet, agency, or publishing platform

Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud—especially Premiere Pro (multicam, audio mixing, captions), Photoshop/Illustrator (image prep, charts, templated lower‑thirds/full screens) and After Effects.

Experience with cloud‑based editing and collaborative workflows;

Demonstrated ability to handle breaking news with speed, accuracy, great attention to detail and solid editorial judgment.

Working knowledge of social publishing workflows and newsroom planning tools; strong understanding of aspect ratios, platform specs, and metadata.

Excellent communication skills; proven team player with a strong sense of ownership, follow‑through and quality control.

Flexibility to work early mornings (as early as 4 am HKT), late nights, weekends and holidays as news warrants.

Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Mandarin is a bonus.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Work Schedule

Thursday & Friday: Full‑day shifts starting at 5:00 am HKT

Saturday: Full‑day shift starting at 8:00 am HKT

Sunday: Occasional coverage may be required

Weekly Hours

Typically 20–24 hours per week, with flexibility to scale up to 40 hours during vacation coverage or peak periods

You will be supporting a team of content producers and video editors in a hybrid capacity.
