A Benefit Analyst (BA) assists the Benefit Consultant in the day‑to‑day needs of the business. Typical functions include, but are not limited to, gathering and auditing benefit information along with experience reports and billing. The BA composes quote requests and sends them to insurance carriers, soliciting bids on health and ancillary plans for the employer/client. The BA prepares spreadsheets to display and communicate rates, total cost, plan designs and claims experience in professional formats for client presentations. The BA also handles quarterly reporting, benchmarking, and other various reports, follows the “renewal time‑line”, and completes all renewal tasks in a timely manner. The BA is responsible for new business quoting for the Employee Benefit Specialist, ensuring the Benefits Consultant remains productive and client‑focused. Skills/Abilities Required

Thrives by building relationships with colleagues. Excellent computer skills – expert in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and able to learn new systems such as Benefit Point and carrier reporting systems. Highly organized & accurate. Independent thinker, offering suggestions for new and forward‑looking practices. Handles many simultaneous projects efficiently and effectively. Operates in a fast‑paced, energetic environment and welcomes change. Creates or modifies processes/procedures to simplify tasks. Strong communication skills (verbal and written, on the phone and in person). Contributes to and flourishes in a team environment; works with team members who perform similar jobs and/or complementary roles. Education, Licensing Or Certification Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. Working knowledge of employee benefit plans, understanding HMOs, PPOs, HSAs, indemnity plans, and ancillary coverage such as life, disability, dental and voluntary insurances is preferred.
