ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Manager/Associate Director, Portfolio Strategy & Competitive Intelligence, you will be a pivotal member of our team, translating competitor data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for nChroma Bio's novel platforms. Collaborating with cross‑functional teams spanning Research and Development, you will contribute to optimal decision‑making that drives our business growth and direction. Through both competitive and market insights, the individual will play a key role in projects under the broader corporate strategy umbrella. This role will report to the CSO and will regularly collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct in‑depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats in gene therapy and delivery
Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape identifying key players, technologies, and market trends
Stay updated on the latest advancements and breakthroughs in the field through monitoring scientific publications, conferences, and industry news
Provide timely and actionable intelligence on competitive benchmarking to evaluate company positioning and to guide the development of our business strategies
Support evaluation of therapeutic opportunities, including scientific and technical fit, unmet need and commercial potential
Contribute to the identification and evaluation of potential partnerships, collaborations, and licensing opportunities
Attend conferences and connect with potential collaborators
Source market data creatively, even if not widely available
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and refine the company's short‑term and long‑term strategic goals, including inputs into Clinical Development Plans (CDP) and Lifecycle Management (LCM)
Collaborate with the nChroma Leadership Team to define and drive forward new partnerships in support of overall corporate and BD strategy
Build presentations for company interactions with potential partners
Prepare and present strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership
Build and maintain market intelligence database and provide regular market intelligence updates to corporate and scientific leadership teams
Work cross‑functionally with all functions including research, finance, legal, and strategic planning/program management to support and drive key initiatives
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, including an ability to combine attention to detail with a big picture perspective
Deep knowledge and understanding of biology with proficiency in distilling complex scientific information actionable analysis
Strong written and oral presentation skills enabling engagement with a wide range of audiences
Curious, sharp business acumen, superior analytical and communication skills
A collaborative and strategic mindset, demonstrated ability to communicate, strategize and collaborate with senior management
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, innovative, and, at times, uncertain or changing environment while remaining flexible, proactive, and resourceful
Adept at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously, integrating cross‑functional issues, and balancing competing priorities effectively

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. and/or M.D. with at least two years of relevant experience, ideally within the biotech or pharmaceutical industries, life sciences consulting, venture capital or investment banking
