Perform duties related to the Office of Reemployment Assistance, including but not limited to the following: Assist in duties of Remittance Processing Systems (RPS). Process tax reports when received from employers, including adjustments, verify and transfer tax and wage reports. Contact employers and claimants as needed to perform above duties. This position performs administrative and technical duties in support of Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax and wage operations. Will monitor programmatic and system-related issues within designated systems of record. Will meet established hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and quality goals by processing assigned workloads in accordance with position guidelines and required timelines, while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and proper documentation of work activities. The position requires regular, professional interaction with employers, employer representatives, and internal agency staff to support effective service delivery. Will provide accurate and timely explanations of applicable UI laws, rules, and regulations, and process assigned workloads in accordance with established guidelines and required timelines while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and proper documentation. Will utilize the agency’s electronic systems of record and other designated applications to enter, review, verify, and maintain records. Microsoft Office and related software applications are used as needed to support reporting, correspondence, and daily operational tasks. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or other ORA Management. The selected candidate must have a valid driver's license and pass an extensive background check.
What you'll need to be Successful
Knowledge of MDES laws and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to work both independently and cooperatively with other staff. Ability to effectively adapt to changing work duties and processes. Excellent organizational, customer service and time management skills. Proficient computer and Microsoft Excel skills and experience with MDES' online services.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of experience.Hiring agency preferred qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, and two (2) years of professional/administrative experience in work related to the described duties.
