This role has a base salary, earns quarterly commissions based on performance and has a monthly car allowance.
This role requires that you reside in the Eastern region of the United States and live near a metropolitan area.
Job Summary / Overview: Development and implementation of sales strategies and tactical plans of the Eastern Region Sales group. Responsible for the attainment of corporate sales goals in the Area they are assigned. Provides analysis for assessment of incoming initiatives and opportunities and products for internal development for the corporate pipeline. To continually elevate the positioning of Sagent within our customer, contracting and distribution relationships through effective use of the sales staff.
Success in the role is measured on:
Supporting Internal Forecasting
Ensuring successful New Product Launches
Managing the assigned Regional Business Managers to achieve their assigned goals.
Closely working with Central and Western Directors of Sales and EVP of Commercial to manage all the sales activities of the company
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
50% -
Provide direction for all activities of the assigned sales group. Assist with the development and implementation of compensation programs. Execute sales and marketing strategies, set sales strategies for their area. Mentor and provide direction and coaching to team members in development of tactical plans.
15% -
Research and develop strategies and plans which identify sales opportunities. Work closely with Marketing and Senior Management to develop accurate sales forecasts.
15% -
Develop Regional Business Managers to ensure success of corporate goals with sales focus.
20% -
Assisting EVP of Commercial to develop strategic plans to ensure corporate goals are met.
Knowledge or Experience:
At least 7 years pharmaceutical sales and preferred management experience
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to reach decisions requiring both linear and abstract thinking.
Must be collaborative, flexible and adaptable, able to work well with people at all levels
Strong analytical skills
Broad understanding of injectable sales and marketing in pharmaceutical injectables industry a plus
Ability to lead, mentor, and develop others for future growth and development.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
At least 7 years of pharmaceutical sales experience
Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership and project management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and a flexible team-oriented perspective
Able to manage by influence versus authority, manage people who are not direct reports
Ability to oversee multiple and competing projects in a fast-paced, changing team environment.
Strong interpersonal communication skills required – verbal, written and presentation.
Broad career progression within the pharmaceutical drug development and/or drug manufacturing industries
Education / Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree, post graduate studies preferred, plus at least 15 years pharmaceutical healthcare (B2B Sales) management experience selling into hospital providers
Experience with GPO sales and marketing
Travel Requirements
Willing to travel domestically as needed up to 50%
