If so, the Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Communications team with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Graphic Designer I!
The ANR Communications team is an internal service unit supporting the work of all agriculture and natural resources extension faculty and staff on campus and across the state. Our mission is to support, create and strategically disseminate educational resources and opportunities to Iowans. This position allows a schedule that lets you maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.
The ideal candidate is open to feedback and receptive to art direction, bringing creative solutions that effectively connect with intended audiences. They manage time well, meet deadlines consistently, and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships. They are organized, detail oriented, and exhibit a willingness to seek new challenges to support self-development. They stay up-to-date on evolving design methods and techniques and demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills, allowing them to adapt their approach and develop solutions that best meet project needs.
What You’ll Do
Create high‑quality designs for educational publications, printed materials, and downloadable PDFs.
Develop promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, cards, and displays for programs and events.
Produce digital graphics for websites and social media.
Collaborate with communications team and subject matter experts on creative direction.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
Coordinate print production with internal printing services and external vendors.
Apply digital accessibility standards and implement best practices.
Maintain organized design files and assets.
Provide design review and feedback when requested.
Adhere to brand standards.
This is a one‑year, fixed term position with the opportunity for renewal.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
