Position Summary In this role, your essential responsibilities will include designing and developing learning content focused on technical training for Kemper P&C Claims. The ideal candidate will leverage instructional design principles and adult learning theory to develop effective training programs.

Position Responsibilities

Conduct independent, in-depth, needs analysis with business partners to identify business problems, learning objectives, level of change, or impact to staff to assess and develop plans for training delivery solutions.

Design content applying knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design models to identify appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience, course content, audience location, etc.

Select the best delivery mode (live classroom, online classroom, video tutorials and microlearning, self‑paced e‑Learning modules or blended) and best training methodologies (lecture, role‑play, simulations, case study, self‑study, OTJT, eLearning, etc.) based on the understanding developed from the in-depth needs analysis.

Partner with subject matter experts to document and develop curriculum requirements and program designs that meet enterprise needs.

Design and develop relevant content as needed including high‑level design documents, outlines, storyboards, facilitator, and student materials (PPTs, handouts, videos, podcasts, quizzes, communications, and related content).

Create learning standards, tools, and templates for use by all learning teams.

Share and collaborate broadly within Kemper L&D community members on standards, tools, templates, and methodology.

Design evaluation strategies and tools to measure effectiveness, and review evaluations and feedback to continuously improve programs.

Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.

Consult with Learning Partners

Consult with business training teams on selection and use of online content and the use of online and virtual training tools.

Consult at all levels and areas of the business to assess learning needs, recommend training or non‑training interventions, develop learning solutions, and evaluate training programs.

Partner with team members, stakeholders, and SMEs in the design and development of learning content.

Present learning solutions to all levels of leadership.

Position Qualifications

3+ years of demonstrated and successful training and content development experience

1+ years insurance experience, preferred but not required

BA/BS degree in Instructional Design, Education, HR, or related area or equivalent in education/experience

In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models

Lesson and curriculum planning skills

Working knowledge of SharePoint

Familiarity with Workday

Basic HTML programming knowledge

Proficiency in multi‑media tools including Adobe Creative Suite, whiteboard animation, infographics, mini‑videos, graphs, and eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, or other eLearning authoring software, and provide portfolio examples

Understanding of learning technology standards, such as SCORM and AICC, that determine how eLearning courses are published, tracked, and interact in an LMS

Knowledge a variety of adult learning/training methodologies

Excellent organizational and project management skills demonstrated by timely task completion and quality of deliverables

Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, adhere to timelines, and meet project delivery deadlines

Must be nimble and possess the ability to be change‑adaptive with multiple priorities

May include travel

The range for this position is $77,100 to $128,500. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)

This is a hybrid role out of a local Kemper claims office
