The Role Little Sleepies is looking for a Junior Photo Art Director to support the artistic direction of our photography and help produce high-quality, engaging imagery that reflects our brand. This role works closely with photographers, retouchers, designers, and cross-functional partners to capture, select, and deliver content for our website, marketing, and storytelling needs. You’ll contribute to the creative vision across both studio and remote shoots, helping ensure our products and community are represented in an accurate, warm, and inclusive way.
The ideal candidate has experience with children’s photography and apparel, understands how to capture emotive and dynamic imagery, and is comfortable collaborating across locations and teams.
What You’ll Do
Support the artistic direction of Little Sleepies photography and help uphold brand consistency across all images
Assist with creative oversight and hands-on execution of styling, propping, and other visual elements for photoshoots
Help maintain and evolve photography style guides that outline art direction, shot requirements, casting, styling, and propping
Partner with Product Design, Graphic Design, eCommerce, and Marketing to understand creative needs and ensure photography supports brand and product storytelling
Provide real-time feedback during remote and in-studio shoots to help ensure high-quality output aligned with style guides and creative intent
Review and help curate photo selects, ensuring the strongest images move forward
Support editing and retouching feedback, including markup and cropping notes, with attention to color accuracy and product detail
What You’ll Bring To The Team
2 to 4 years of experience in photo art direction, commercial photography, or a related role
Experience working with babies and children
A portfolio that highlights shoot direction, image selection, and work with children’s or lifestyle brands (preferred)
Experience collaborating with remote teams and photographers across multiple locations
A strong eye for composition, lighting, and brand-forward storytelling
Hands-on still-life styling experience for product-focused photography
Solid organizational skills and comfort managing multiple projects
A proactive, adaptable approach to both remote and in-studio shoot work
Background in production is a plus
Ability to work from our Los Angeles HQ at least 3 days per week; Strong understanding of photo and video production processes
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and production tools (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, etc.) and Figma
