About Us
XOXO is a research lab building the interface of intelligence for everyday life. We're a stealth team of hardcore engineers, designers, and researchers discovering solutions to novel problems impacting life outside work.
With a recent breakthrough across infrastructure, architecture, and the model layer, we’re hiring serious builders to develop the interface and application layer that will bring our vision to life.
About the Role We're hiring a Graphic Designer to help bring a new visual language to life across every surface it touches. This is pure design. No code, no AI experience expected. We're looking for someone with extraordinary taste and craft who can create across digital, print, merchandise, packaging, iconography, and brand collateral.
You'll work directly with our Founder to push an established brand identity forward, building off a strong foundation into new avenues, mediums, and placements.
Note: We're optimizing for taste, originality, and hunger to create something meaningful over a perfect resume. If this sounds like your "for me" project, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Design experiences within the consumer application, creating visual moments, graphics, and elements that live inside the product.
Translate digital experiences into physical representations: merchandise, packaging, print, and collectible items that carry the same intention.
Create collateral across broader channels and placements, from marketing and social to environmental and beyond.
Develop iconography, typography treatments, patterns, and graphic elements within a rule-based design system.
Collaborate with the Founder to take brand direction and execute across surfaces with speed and precision.
Push creative boundaries within constraints, working within a design system that has its own rules and principles while finding what's possible.
Skills and Qualifications Minimum qualifications:
A portfolio demonstrating exceptional graphic design craft: typography, composition, color, layout, and a clear aesthetic point of view.
Deep understanding of how visual elements create cohesion across diverse surfaces, including digital, print, packaging, merchandise, and environmental.
Ability to work within structured design systems and constraints while producing work that feels fresh and inventive.
Strong sense of taste with influences outside of tech. Fashion, editorial, architecture, fine art, or any world where craft and visual identity matter deeply.
Comfort working closely with a founder who has strong design opinions and leads creative direction.
Ability to move quickly from concept to execution without sacrificing quality.
Preferred qualifications (we encourage you to apply if you meet some but not all of these):
Experience in luxury, fashion, or editorial design where restraint and subtlety are valued over maximalism.
Background in physical product design: merchandise, packaging, or collectible items.
Experience creating design systems or visual languages from scratch.
Familiarity with print production, materials, and finishes.
A portfolio link is required to apply for this role.
Logistics
Location: San Francisco, CA (on-site)
Compensation: $200k−$500k expected salary with 1% to 5% equity depending on background.
Benefits: XOXO offers top tier health, dental, and vision benefits, and many other perks.
