Summary The KAM II is a salesperson responsible for meeting sales quotas and expense budgets for assigned clients by managing sales programs, promotional spending, distribution levels, shelf placement and strategic planning initiatives. Our clients are manufacturers, vendors, or brands contracted with Advantage as their sales force, while our customers are retailers, wholesalers, and distributors who buy our clients’ brands.

This teammate collaborates with clients to develop strategic plans, works with retailer associates on Headquarter calls to implement programs, and owns the relationship with our clients. They make decisions regarding spending of trade funds to drive increased sales, sign, implement, and execute contracts on behalf of clients. The position works closely with internal Advantage associates to increase sales volume within a market and may service one or multiple clients’ goals, encompassing customer relations and implementation across Pioneering, Regional, and Tier 3 client categories.

Responsibilities

Drive clients’ business at assigned customers; increase distribution, grow sales dollars/units/share/other KPIs while staying on spend.

Ensure retail/merchandising execution and basic eCommerce execution.

Achieve targeted income and expense budgets by implementing promotional and marketing strategies.

Analyze trends, identify growth opportunities, and make recommendations to clients and customers.

Monitor and drive growth through efficient management of promotional spending within guidelines on assigned clients.

Meet budgetary goals by maintaining strict control and accounting of accrual and bill‑back funds.

Meet or exceed client goals for sales, distribution, share, pricing, shelving, and promotional volume.

Launch strategies to pursue new opportunities.

Implement retailer Headquarter calls and penetrate key positions at the retailer to achieve sales goals.

Ensure retail pricing and indirect order guides are updated by correcting discrepancies.

Secure client‑approved schematics for all clients’ brands.

Ensure incremental sales through distribution of new products and maintenance of existing SKU’s.

Collaborate with category management to develop retailer presentations using database rationale.

Manage accounts to achieve the targeted ACV on Innovation.

Build and maintain effective client and retailer relationships.

Demonstrate sales accomplishments and opportunities via sales presentations.

Provide strategic input for annual business plans, problem solving, and ongoing customer management.

Provide timely communication on client goals, programs, price changes, and priorities.

Manage difficult situations, issues, and conflicts to achieve effective outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

4-6 years of experience working closely with key retailers (department heads, category managers, buyers, etc.).

Track record of managing high‑value accounts, developing long‑term relationships, and delivering on customer objectives such as sales growth and promotional execution.

Travel Essential duties include travel and driving; travel up to 20% of the time.

Physical & Environmental Requirements Office/sedentary: 66%+ of the day sitting. Requires ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
