Position Information Position Information
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of three (3) years of full-time progressive leadership, management, and supervisory experience within an auxiliary residential housing operation.
Successful candidates will also demonstrate strong knowledge in housing administration and personnel operations including but not limited to: exceptional business acumen, budget management, and fiscal planning; proven ability to recruit, train, support, and retain a large and diverse staff, including experience with unionized employee groups; ability to manage conflicts and crisis situations, including Title IX, student code of conduct, and mental health situations; commitment to students with an understanding of student development theory and how to promote student learning and success; ability to communicate and collaboratively work with other key stakeholders to promote student and campus life; excellent organizational and analytic skills with the ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with an engaging public presence.
Proven leader who is visionary, strategic, innovated, authentic, flexible, change-oriented, and capable of bringing stability to the unit.
High aptitude, acumen, and experience of using data and predictive measures to evaluate and supervise services, facilities, programs, and personnel, through the use of assessments and best practices to make strategic and visionary advancements to enhance residential life.
Communicator and collaborator to establish and build relationships and partnerships across the campus.
Desired Qualifications
A minimum of eight (8) years of full-time progressive leadership, management, and supervisory experience within residential housing administration is preferred.
All Qualifications Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
Position Purpose Manage all aspects of university housing and residential life including assignments and summer conferences, student engagement and programming, personnel, academic support, student conduct, and recruitment and enrollment.
