RESPONSIBILITIES This position will be responsible for the Utilizer portfolio, including the following brands: CURE 81 boneless hams, Spiral/Canned hams, HORMEL Marinated Meats, HERBOX, House of Tsang, HORMEL Chunk Chicken and all other value added.
The Assistant National Category Sales Manager is accountable for developing and delivering the overall business plan required to achieve the volume, share, and sales goals for the assigned portfolio.
Champions the assigned categories and brands on a national basis across all channels and customers, with a focus on driving strategic growth with Premium / Focus customers.
Champion and collaborator in supporting Customer Growth Landscapes for included brands.
Partners with sales to ensure alignment of brand and customer strategy through active participation and support of customer negotiation.
Leads the strategic planning process by collaborating with marketing to develop brand executional strategies that deliver top and bottom-line growth expectations by providing brand, category, customer, market, and industry knowledge.
Manages the strategic planning process across the entire Retail sales organization including field directors, managers, customer executives, field sales strategy, and revenue growth management for assigned brands.
Builds and allocates the volume objectives and trade budgets for the brands under their responsibility on a macro level and down to each customer.
Provides forecast on volume, trade and gross margin for respective brands to inform organizational outlook and drive profitable growth, including making the call on trade changes and gap solving throughout the year.
Develops monthly to 18-month rolling volume forecasts & annual trade forecasts to organization that is utilized by demand planning to support both the S&OE and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
Creates field ready Insights Driven Sales solutions (category vision) that can be utilized/leveraged by the field teams to drive brand and category growth.
QUALIFICATIONS Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
1+ years of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience.
Demonstrated analytical ability.
Pattern of initiative.
Highly developed interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Strong persuasive skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work independently.

COMPENSATION At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Assistant National Category Sales Manager role is between
$87,175 - $122,050 per year , and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
