Senior Commercial Account Manager
to join our growing team. We are a relationship‑driven, client‑focused independent insurance agency serving businesses throughout the Midwest. About the Role The
Senior Commercial Account Manager
is responsible for managing a book of commercial lines business, providing high‑level service and consultation to clients, and supporting producers with retention and growth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, has deep commercial P&C expertise, and wants to be part of a supportive and high‑performing team.
Key Responsibilities – Client Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for all client service needs.
Manage renewals from start to finish: marketing, quoting, analysis, proposal preparation, and delivery.
Provide coverage recommendations and risk management guidance to clients.
Handle policy changes, certificates, evidence of insurance, audits, billing questions, and claims support.
Conduct periodic account reviews and proactively identify coverage gaps or improvement opportunities.
Technical & Marketing
Prepare and submit marketing submissions to carriers; negotiate terms and pricing.
Analyze carrier quotes and create clear, professional proposals for clients.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in the agency management system (AMS360, Epic, or similar).
Stay current with industry trends, emerging risks, and carrier appetites.
Partner closely with producers to support account retention and growth.
Mentor junior account managers or assistants as needed.
Build effective relationships with carrier underwriters and service teams.
Assist with onboarding new clients and ensuring a smooth transition process.
Qualifications
5+ years of Commercial Lines account management experience
in an independent agency setting (required).
Strong knowledge of commercial P&C coverages including:
General Liability
Commercial Auto
Property
Workers Compensation
Professional Liability / Cyber / D&O/ Fiduciary / Crime / Ocean Marine
Active
Illinois Property & Casualty License .
Experience with carrier rating portals and agency management systems.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent communication skills—professional, clear, and client‑focused.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
