The headquarters for this position is negotiable between Leon, Suwannee, Bradford, Gilchrist, Columbia, Alachua, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Hernando, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, Orange and Collier County. Responsibilities
This position serves as analytic staff in the Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE) Bureau of Investigations (BIS) under the supervision of the Crime Intelligence Analyst Supervisor-SES. Duties include: Coordinate and collaborate with OALE BIS and BUS commanders, supervisors, investigators and staff to support tactical, operational and strategic actions in support of FDACS statutory responsibilities. Research and analyze raw data, apply critical thinking and logic skills to develop sound conclusions, recommendations, and actionable intelligence to be presented via information and analytic products. Plan, collect, process, analyze, disseminate, and reevaluate data to support criminal investigations. Review, evaluate, and analyze available data from open source and law enforcement databases and disseminate information regarding criminal activity, enterprises, and suspected acts. Prepare written or oral briefings, presentations, and educational products using charts, graphs and analytic resources. Conduct research and strategic crime analysis, analyze long‑term crime patterns and trends using statistical analysis and forecast future criminal activity. Responsible for procedures and techniques related to computerized mapping, analysis and review of digital forensic data. Testify before grand juries and criminal trials on information developed during investigations and criminal cases when required. Maintain Liaison and Support
Compile, analyze and disseminate information and intelligence from various agencies and the public to support criminal investigations. Coordinate inter‑state and intra‑state information and intelligence pertaining to criminal activity and movement, exercising independent judgment to ensure accurate and reliable information is disseminated. Awareness and Analytical Support
Provide analytical assistance to investigations, including driver’s license photos, criminal histories, facial recognition, court documents, and vehicle registrations; apply legal issues surrounding privacy, confidentiality, civil rights and civil liberties within the investigative cycle. Professional Development and Training
Seek career development opportunities and attend agency‑mandated and job‑related training relevant to the position. Electronic and Technical Systems
Operate computers using standard industry software and specialty analytic and investigative resources. Use standard office equipment as required. Other Tasks
Assist other sections within the OALE as needed and perform related work and tasks as required by management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of report writing techniques. Knowledge of research and intelligence analysis techniques. Knowledge of effective communication procedures with diverse stakeholders. Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize criminal data and developed intelligence. Ability to review large amounts of data and determine significance, completeness, and usefulness for criminal intelligence and investigative proceedings. Ability to write reports, investigative summaries and memoranda. Ability to make independent decisions. Ability to report information clearly, concisely, and accurately. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Additional Requirements
Occasional travel required. Minimum Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or • Experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, law enforcement agency, 911 emergency telecommunications, farm, ranch, or agricultural management plus a high school diploma can substitute on a year‑for‑year basis; or • Vocational/technical training in law enforcement can substitute for the required education at the rate of 720 classroom hours per year; or • An equivalent combination of education and experience that equals four (4) years can substitute for the above requirements. • Requires possession of a valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications
A Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Training (FLEAT) certification. A Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy (FLEAA) certification. Selection Process
