The

Performance Improvement Manager

supports the Director of Quality Improvement/Risk Management in the implementation, monitoring, and coordination of hospital‑wide Quality Improvement (QI) and Risk Management programs. This role is responsible for data collection, compliance review, reporting, teaching and assisting with ongoing performance improvement initiatives in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Assists with compiling and entering data into corporate databases in a professional and timely manner.

Provide continuous support in the analysis of quality assurance and performance improvement goals and objectives.

Ensure any detected deficiency in meeting quality improvement goals and objectives is addressed with appropriate management in a timely manner.

Develop monthly meeting presentations, complete minutes and maintain a record on performance improvement activities and all committee minutes associated with quality programs.

Establish a system for collecting, reporting and analyzing statistical data relating to performance improvement measures.

Participate in quality assurance improvement meetings on a regular basis to develop and continuously encourage a facility‑wide team effort in meeting quality improvement efforts.

Assist with regulatory and accrediting agency compliance.

Consult with Risk Management and other Senior Team Leaders related to possible risks as relates to hospital/patient safety as needed and/or as identified in PI data/reports.

Maintain compliance with attendance and punctuality standards.

Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications Requirements

Bachelors degree required

1-3 years prior related experience required

Knowledge of Quality Improvement (QI) principles, auditing processes, and healthcare compliance standards

Strong analytical and data‑review skills, with the ability to tabulate, summarize, and interpret clinical and operational information

Understanding of healthcare regulations, including DMH requirements, peer review processes, and clinical documentation standards

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative leaders

Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, BSAS standards, and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities

Familiarity with Risk Management practices, including incident reporting workflows and follow‑up procedures
