Job Description We are seeking an analytically driven and detail-oriented Portfolio Management Associate to support the firm’s portfolio management, investment operations, and client facing portfolio execution needs. This role is ideal for a candidate with foundational investment industry experience who is looking to deepen their exposure to portfolio construction, implementation, and client-facing investment work.
This role will work directly with all investment team members including direct visibility to senior decision makers – with highly sensitive responsibilities early on. This role will require professional and prompt communication with the client service and advisory teams to ensure accurate portfolio implementation and efficient investment processes as well as ownership over cash management tracking tools (Microsoft Office Suite + CRM).
This role will have the opportunity to contribute to, and learn from, multiple aspects of our investment operations, including day-to-day portfolio management, client communication, and system/processes management. Reporting directly to a senior member of the investment team, this position requires a self-starter who thrives on ensuring excellent and meticulous execution of key processes. The position requires flexibility to accommodate changing priorities, particularly during market hours. This position will be responsible for executing a wide variety of tasks, increasing in complexity and ownership over time, including:
Serve as the primary lead for the firm’s daily Cash Management program
Coordinate with senior portfolio management team on account transitions, portfolio rebalancing, and client portfolio implementations
Collaborate with third-party SMA providers to analyze portfolios and propose implementation or allocation recommendations
Organize and manage portfolio reporting attributes, including dynamic target allocations, fixed income analytics, and inputs and assumptions for the firm’s Alternative Investment Pacing Model
External Client Reporting & Communications
Respond to ad hoc client and advisor requests related to portfolio structure, performance, and investment activity
In partnership with primary and secondary advisors, contribute to the production of new client investment proposals, utilizing and improving existing templates and workflows
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education and experience), preferably in finance, economics, business, accounting, computer science, or a related field
Minimum of 1 year of relevant financial services or investment industry experience required
Prior financial analytics experience with a client-facing component is a plus
Series 65 or Series 7/66 preferred but not required prior to employment
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions while also thinking critically and independently improving processes
Proven ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects and communicate priorities and expectations clearly
High degree of self-motivation, integrity, and willingness to take on increasing responsibility
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong digital literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Self-starter capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Strong emotional intelligence with ability to think and operate in the best interest of the client
Prior experience with Addepar and/or custodial trading interfaces (i.e. Schwab Advisor Center) is a plus
Compensation Job Type Full-time
CoastEdge follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance. Details are below:
Initial Salary range: $80,000-$90,000 - commensurate with experience
