invites applications for three (3)
Lead Baristas
to provide direct operational supervision of the UM Starbucks Coffeehouse. You will work collaboratively with the UM Starbucks management team in evaluation and performance management of student employees. This position reports directly to the General Manager and Assistant Manager.
Responsibilities
Supervise the setup, service and breakdown of all coffee services and equipment
Involved in all aspects of setup, opening, service, and closing tasks related to the Starbucks Coffeehouse operation
Assist with effective labor management, ordering of supplies, inventories of supplies and maintenance of equipment
Assist in setting and maintaining high standards for receiving, producing, serving, holding, presenting and storing all food and beverage items
Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by ensuring that all sanitation, food handling and safety regulations are followed at all times
Handle all front-of-the-house student personnel functions including training, development and shift supervision
Direct and supervise up to six (6) student employees and any temporary employees assigned to work in the UM Starbucks operation
Act as operational leader in the absence of the General Manager or the Assistant Manager
One (1) or more years of supervision in a high-volume foodservice environment
Experience working in a high-volume coffeeshop environment
Experience training employees new to a work force
Ability to communicate and work with a variety of clients
Good communication and guest service skills, both written and verbal
Experience with addressing personnel issues and conflict resolution
Ability to remain productive in a fast-paced environment
Familiar with food safety practices and procedures
Ability to become ServSafe certified within one year of employment
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of supervision in a high-volume foodservice environment
One (1) or more years of experience working in a high-volume coffeeshop environment
Previous ServSafe certification
A valid Montana driver’s license or ability to obtain one at the time of employment
Outstanding guest service skills
Excellent communication skills

Shift Times
Weekdays: 6:30am - 3:00pm and 9:00am - 5:30pm
Weekends: 7:00am - 3:30pm
Probationary Period:
Six (6) months minimum
