We have an exciting Freight Sales Manager opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. The Freight Sales Manager role is responsible for generating new revenue through prospecting business and negotiating market freight rates for the Seaboard Transport fleet. The Freight Sales Manager will build and maintain relationships with prospecting customers, negotiate contracts and/or agreements, and coordinate with the Operations Manager to ensure the in‑house fleet can service internal and external business partners. This position will ensure the fleet maximizes efficiencies and cost to improve revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively working potential accounts through the sales cycle
Account management to regain and grow client base.
Maintain client and prospect databases
Be available for required meetings and other appointed times consistent and required to conduct and maintain sales business.
Coordinating with operations teams to execute on sales
Meet established performance criteria as determined
Travel to meet customers and prospects
Attend customer meetings and trade shows as needed
Other duties assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics, Transportation or related field required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Sales experience in the transportation industry required.
Ability to work and learn independently.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business and financial implications.
Comprehensive understanding of truckload cost models and routings to maximize profit.
SCHEDULE Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM, schedule may adjust based off business needs, also an expectation of on call nights & weekends
