Working within Pricing & Promo, your mission is to develop enterprise wide pricing and promotion strategies with merchants impacting millions of dollars within the enterprise Pricing and Promotions Center of Excellence. Pricing strategies affect everyday retails, promotional effectiveness, clearance management and competitive pricing. As a member of the Pricing & Promo team, you’ll focus on leading promotional offer strategy and effectiveness, and be a key business consultant to merchants developing relationships with Buyers, Sr. Buyers, and Divisionals. There is also a strong partnership with Marketing to bring offers to life for the Guest, as well as partnership with Store Operations, Finance and other important support areas.
As a Pricing & Promo Strategy Lead, you’ll take the lead to develop pricing & promotion strategies and plans that will result in optimal financial outcomes and support broader price perception objectives for Target. You will learn and understand merchant businesses, strategies, and objectives. You will support the team as a consultant to refine strategies based on market conditions and business performance and develop division-specific financial goals and objectives for key initiatives. Through your coordination of cross-function reviews you will have the opportunity to support new and on-going initiatives. Using your strategic problem solving skills, you will drive process improvements and identify business risks and opportunities based on financial and operational performance. Leverage your strong critical thinking and communication skills to educate merchants and other partners by influencing pricing decisions and driving collaborative dialogue and processes between Merchants, Marketing and the Pricing and Promo COE. We’ll support you along the way with robust onboarding, as well as personal and career development, to help you grow as a strong Strategy & Planning Lead. The exciting part of retail? About you
Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
6+ years previous merchandising experience (e.g. buyer, operations, pricing)
Experience leading complex projects and enterprise strategies
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maximize relationships
Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills
Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical, decision-making, project management, planning and organizational skills
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
