Position Summary The UNC School of Medicine IT Web Services team is seeking a Web Developer/Designer with WordPress experience. This role designs, builds, and maintains School of Medicine websites in a large WordPress multisite environment. The position combines front‑end development and visual design to ensure websites are modern, accessible, secure, and consistent with institutional branding. The Web Developer/Designer works closely with IT staff and departmental website administrators to deliver reliable, high‑quality web solutions that support the School of Medicine’s mission.
Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit Our mission is to improve the health and well‑being of North Carolinians and others whom we serve. We accomplish this by providing leadership and excellence in the interrelated areas of patient care, education and research. Patient care: We promote health and provide superb clinical care while maintaining our strong tradition of reaching underserved populations and reducing health disparities. Education: We prepare tomorrow’s healthcare professionals and biomedical researchers from all backgrounds by facilitating learning within innovative and integrated curricula and team‑oriented interprofessional education. Research: We develop and support a rich array of outstanding health sciences research programs, centers and resources, fostering collaboration across disciplines.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Graduation from high school and one year in a technology field related to the position.
Computer coursework may be substituted year for year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Journey level requires an additional six months of experience.
Advanced level requires an additional one year of experience.
Management Preferences
Experience using software-based phone systems.
Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills.
IT support experience in mixed environments, including Mac and Windows.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities Not Applicable.
